Today we’re featuring a pretty DIY pink flower card. We’ve done a card with this layout and style over the years and somehow it popped into Ann’s head. She hadn’t opened the Poised Peony set and so I figured that this would be the perfect project to break it out for.
When Ann made this style card years ago in workshops, she would take the featured peony image and stamp that to make the background. This time, she used the main stamp in the Layers of Beauty. She only had to stamp it twice to cover the whole piece of cardstock. AND it has finer lines which will look better on a background and not fight with the main flower.
What We Learned
I don’t remember the last time that Ann stamped an image with classic ink and then coloring with Stampin’ Blends. It sure did work when Ann stamped the flower in Gray Granite and colored the flower with Pretty in Pink and Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Blends.
Usually, it’s best to stamp the image in Memento Ink which won’t interact with the alcohol based Stampin’ Blends. But we feel that it’s worth trying with classic ink if you don’t overlap the lines.
It’s worth a try!
