New Magnolia Birthday Card

Here it is, the third day in a row where we’re featuring a new stamp set! This time it’s a magnolia birthday card.

I used the vellum on yesterday’s card, but today I thought I would knock it up a peg and use the Vellum Basics that you may have missed on page 133 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

The Hardest thing to Decide

I just love it! It was so easy and elegant. The watercoloring only took minutes because we chose not to color the flower petals. You could color them Petal Pink or Bubble Bath, but we left them white which doesn’t require any effort at all!

We did add the Lemon Lolly on that one flower based on a picture of a fake magnolia plant we saw on the Kohl’s site. (It sure did look good! And thank you Google!)

The hardest decision was whether or not we stamped on the Old Olive layer. We already had texture in the vellum so we decided against it. And because we were stamping the greeting on that layer, we didn’t want to emboss it with our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
