Are you ready for Black Friday? Do you like to go out and about in the crowds and spread some cheer? Or do you like to stay all cozy in your home?
I’m sure all of my friends with that white stuff outside prefer the latter. In fact, when we polled our newsletter readers, most of them stay out of the crowds on Black Friday.
And that’s okay, because we’ve got something special planned. We’re just putting the finishing touches on it and hope to have it ready for the stroke of midnight when all the turkey leftovers are secure in the refrigerator.

I am so excited! It’s almost time for Thanksgiving! Are you ready?

My! What a Big Card You Have!
Here’s the situation. What do you do?
You need to make a card – but about 40 people need to sign it. That’s kind of hard with a standard 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ handmade card unless everyone is writing in teeny tiny letters.

Patriotic Holiday Card & Card Giving Days
Do you have a loved one serving overseas? Here’s a Christmas card with patriotic colors that might not make them quite as homesick as a Christmas card with standard Christmas colors.
Ann used to live in England with my favorite huMAN way before my grandmother was born. She knows what it’s like to live away from family. In fact, we live away from family now.
It’s so nice to get something from home, but it can be kind of bittersweet because it reminds you how much you miss someone. (Make sure you mail early!)

How Do I Start a Card?
What inspires you when you sit down to make a card? Do you decide the layout first? The color? The stamps?
This time, I suggested a layout to Ann first. Because we make many of our cards for sharing with you, the type of greeting isn’t always thought of until we’ve made the card.
That is, unless we need a specific type of card.
But with this card, here’s how it went (at least this time):

Have you ever gone to make a card and then made one that was totally different?
It’s kind of like going into a room to look for something and forgetting what you went in there for. (Yeah! THAT’S never happened to you! Right?)
So Ann was heading in to make a birthday card for LaVerne who is celebrating her 100th birthday this weekend. And she came out with a Christmas card!
What was she thinking? (I’m sure she’ll make an appropriate 100th birthday card for LaVerne later today or tomorrow.

Flip Santa
I don’t know about you, but I don’t really like those weird looking Santas in the Visions of Santa stamp set and the Santa & Co. Designer Series Paper.
There! I barked it! And now you know! There is RARELY anything that Stampin’ Up! does that I don’t like, but these Santas freak me out! So much so that I nibbled Ann’s hand to stop her from using it.

It’s a Boy!
Have you ever needed to be in two places at one time? It’s happened to all of us and yesterday it happened to Ann.
Wait! The only time it ever happens to me is when there’s food in my bowl and I’m outside. but I digress….
What a day it was yesterday! The stampers were stamping and Ann was invited to the baby shower next door. The weather was fabulous – something like 76 so they were celebrating outside.
We were doing a Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack with the windows open so we could hear the fun.
Now, if you’ve been following us at all, Ann likes to make her cards to match her gift cards, but my favorite huMAN came home with a red one – not the baby pastels we were expecting. Real Red is Ann’s all-time favorite
