Give Your Friend a Rainbow Card

If you ever wanted to make a quick card, today’s rainbow card is it! Ann came across this 4″ x 6″ piece of the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. So she cut it in half along the 4″ side, ending up with a 2″ x 6″ piece that she used on today’s card.

Can You Spot the New Thing?

Can you spot the brand new thing that we used on this card? The paper was already like a rainbow so we just attached it to a 2-1/4″ wide piece of Basic Black cardstock. Then we ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder that Stampin’ Up! just released this month.

It’s a regular sized 3D embossing folder. They call it mini because the ripples are smaller than a previous one that Stampin’ Up! had years ago.

Want to Know a Secret?

Did you notice that Ann put the patterned paper and the Basic Black both through the embossing folder at the same time? She does this because with all those little hills and valleys, the paper is going to shrink in length. (If you’re ever going to do this, do NOT use liquid glue to bind the papers together because you don’t want any of it to ooze out when you’re running it through your machine.

And – she cut the paper about 1/8″ longer than the card base. 5-5/8″ instead of 5-1/2″. And guess what! It shrunk almost exactly to 5-1/2″ after running them through the embossing folder.

Guess what! There’s no stamping on this project! Just noticed that!
