Exciting Times in Thailand

Were you wondering where Ann has been? I must bark my apologies that my typist has not been up to sharing my ideas as much as I’d like her to!

Thanks to me (& you & our team of 24/7 Stampers), Ann is spending time in Thailand with all her Stampin’ Up! peeps. They really know how to fill their days!

So yesterday, she and my favorite huMAN escaped the lush digs that Stampin’ Up! provided for them. This is a grassy area outside their hotel. (Boy, couldn’t I have some fun there!)

They went to visit some elephants who are at a retreat of their own. It’s called the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. Ann learned a lot about what elephants are put through to become entertainment or workers for humans. She even got to feed one!

It was quite a day! It gave Ann goosebumps, but that part is for a later story.

They got to go walking with the elephants into their jungle playground. They even got to watch them put on some sunscreen (mud) and take a dip in the pond.

To say that Ann got close to them is an understatement. She said it was a real moving experience and the sanctuary has limited funds to purchase these aging elephants.

You can tell that this one in the picture above is older because of where her face is sunken in above her eyes. At least she will live the rest of her days in relative peace thanks to the efforts of the kind workers of the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary.
