Earlier this week, a doctor told Ann that studies show that coloring is relaxing. Ann’s immediate thought (that she didn’t verbalize) was “No kidding!”.
But she was glad that the medical professional recognized how coloring can bring you some necessary time to relax. And to honor that thought, we’re sharing this card with flowers that Ann colored before they went on their little vacay.

Mix & Match
I just love that you can mix and match Stampin’ Up! stamps, papers and colors and still end up with an impressive card. And yes, Ann enjoyed coloring this. That’s why she used the coordinating dies to cut the flowers out and put them aside for when she needed them.
Ann says she’s pretty “matchy-matchy”. She likes her clothes to match and she really likes the colors on her cards to coordinate. But here are some things that are very different on this card compared to what she usually does when she creates:
- Each of the colors only appear once on the card except for Mellow Moss which is used here:
- on the greeting
- is in the patterned paper
- and is used for the border around the patterned paper
- Basic Beige is only used on the card base
- The flower was colored with Darling Duckling, Pecan Pie, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends
- The Streaked Dots are only listed as Brown.

Do You Find Coloring Relaxing?
So, what kind of media do you like to use when you color? I know that Ann feels that she doesn’t color enough. But I know that she prefers the Stampin’ Blends. Those are Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol markers that come in many of our beautiful Stampin’ Up! colors. They come as a pair in light and dark shades of one color. That gives you more opportunities to shade your images.
Ann likes them best because they blend so well.
