Patriotic Birthday Card

It’s not too late for a patriotic birthday card. It’s only the 10th of July.

So, we thought this would be the perfect time to try out our two-tone cardstock that’s on sale for 20% off this month.

We Didn’t Use Sanding Paper

If you look closely, you’ll see that we roughed up the paper a little but we didn’t use sanding paper. You could use sanding paper or a sanding block, but Ann wasn’t sure if she kept hers or not. (It’s been a while since she used them.)

We’ve had this Real Red Two Tone Cardstock for a while, but hadn’t tried it yet. A sale is a perfect inspiration to get her to bust out something she hadn’t tried before!

And what better to use with Real Red, but Blueberry Bushel and Basic White! Instant patriotic birthday card!

The sand eraser is a bit more subtle. You can get one here. (Warning. They come in pairs and last a long time.)

See the almost white spots? That’s because the Two Tone Cardstock has a white core. Color is painted on the Two Tone Cardstock. The regular Stampin’ Up!® cardstock is dipped and saturated. I believe we used the darker side of the Real Red on this one.

The same goes for the Encircled with Love stamp set. We had to wait to get it, but I’m sure glad we did. We could’ve used a circle punch or die, but thought we’d try the Everyday Arches Dies. They’re so popular that they’re out of stock but are expected in next week. Who knows! They may come in today!
