Making a Holly Patchwork Christmas Card

As usual, yesterday’s card didn’t go exactly according to plan. But I still like the Holly Patchwork Christmas card we came up with.

We don’t mix patterns much, but these were preselected and that’s what we had to deal with. The strips are 1-7/8″ wide.

We really liked our inspiration card that Nancy Mc sent us, but putting metallic foil paper or embossing wasn’t in the plan. Nancy’s card was the first Christmas card we received this year. Yet every time Ann walks by our card, she likes it a bit better.

The colors we used for the holly leaves and the Wink of Stella that we used on the berries were inspired by Nancy’s card. You can see her card in the replay here on YouTube or by watching it below.

I can’t believe that we didn’t use any embellishments like jewels of ribbons. But I think that the Wink of Stella on the added sparkle to the already busy card.

Ann told everyone on the show that she would be adding the Real Red berries. But it wasn’t until after the cameras were off that she thought about toning down some of the business of the card by adding another big leaf.
