Whether you’re a mother or not, Happy Mother’s Day!
Some of you are mother’s and some of you are not. But all of you had mothers, right?
We’re hoping that you’re celebrating with her. But if she’s not here, we hope that you will be remembering good times you had with her.
Maybe you know someone today who might need a little encouragement. We made a nice card that just may fit the bill! All the better if they’ve done something nice lately.
Wouldn’t it be nice to get a card that had that saying? And yes, it could be used for a Happy Mother’s Day card. But if you’d like to see a more traditional card, you can see 25 Happy Mother’s Day card ideas here.
You can make this card anytime, but you can’t get these stamp sets just anytime. They’re going away on June 2nd.
These are on the Retiring List
We had the cling version of the Breathtaking Bouquet so we started with the Stamparatus and our Sahara Sand ink pad with a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla. That way, we could trim down where we felt would make the card look best.
Do you think that we made the right call on where we cut it?
Card Making Tips
Ann said that it was very relaxing to just sit and color for a while. She started with the Flirty Flamingo flower and then went to the Purple Posy flowers. The last was the Mint Macaron leaves.
It didn’t take a long time because she only colored the strip. Actually, she originally intended to just do the one flower. Once she started, she couldn’t help herself.
She was surprised how well the Stampin’ Blends worked with Very Vanilla card stock and Sahara Sand classic ink. (Shimmery White cardstock and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
The Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer was perfect for this. Ann measured 2″ down each side. Once she’d cut the corner off, she cut a small sliver – maybe 1/16″ – off the angled edge. That wasn’t the original plan, but there was a little black ink on the cardstock from the pen mark she made.
Oops!
But I think that it really made it look even better, don’t you think?
It looks more blended in real life and we just love it. We left it out for my favorite huMAN to peruse when he got up this morning.
Yes, guys like flowers too!
