It’s the last day that you can save 25% of Stampin’ Up!’s Layering Ovals Framelits for your Big Shot collection.

You know, we didn’t think we wanted any of these layering framelits.  Stampin’ Up! has released them in Layering Squares, Hearts & Circles too, but only the Ovals are on sale for 25% off.

We had the old versions were still good.  Why would we want these new layering ones?  Once we worked with them, we were so glad we have them!

Before I go on, I have to ask….. should we call this our Phantom of the Opera card?  I know from watching old vampire movies with my favorite huMAN that the Phantom wasn’t a vampire, but the music just makes me hear that big pipe organ music in the background.

So, do you notice how the Rich Razzleberry scallops are just a touch of color behind Dracula?  With the Layering Ovals Framelits, the layers are just the right size to offer a hint of color behind your main oval.  And you can mix and match!

With the older ones, the layers tend to be a bit larger than we like.  But with the new Layering Ovals Framelits, you can pick whether you want something larger or these thin scallops.

And if you do like the inside of this card, you don’t always need a border.  We made this oval small so we don’t have to write much more than my name.

and if you look close, you may be able to see where we colored his tie in with the Gold Wink of Stella.  A little gold tooth might be nice, but I don’t think it would look the same.

Stampin’ Up! Card Making Tip

  • We didn’t color in his face because he’s Dracula!  He’s supposed to look a little peaked.
  • A little chalk marker on his teeth might make them look better.
  • We colored the Dracula with Rich Razzleberry & Tangerine Tango.
  • the background Designer Series Paper is actually our CHRISTMAS Specialty DSP from the main catalog!

This card was so quick and fun to do.  I blinked and Ann had it finished.  She spent way more time typing my barks!

So if you’d like to score some stamps and supplies so that you can make this card (& have lots of DSP left over for Christmas cards), here’s a list of what we used.

Use the latest host code posted at the top of the right column.  That will tell us to insert a small gift in with the reusable card that we send all our online shoppers.  (Just don’t use it if you’re spending $150+ so that YOU can get some free hosting benefits – AKA Stampin’ Rewards.)
