Whenever we make a square card, we like to make them 4-1/4″ square. That’s what we did with today’s little square koala card.
We make them that size because they’ll fit in a regular A2 envelope. That’s the same size you use for our “regular” sized cards. They’re just a bit larger than a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card so that it won’t squish the card.
Pro Tips
You could make an envelope for any sized card, but square cards (& boxes) cost more to mail. I think the post office charges more because it’s hard for the machines to process square things.
No one will know that there’s a little square card inside that regular A2 envelope but you and the person who opens it.
And my second tip is to be sure you score your card base. Ann frequently gets by with hand folding her card base and then giving them a good burnish with her bone folder. But you really need to score, fold and burnish the Thick Basic White cardstock if you want a good fold.
