I can’t believe that we almost missed this die! We bought the Pattern of Friendship stamp set but didn’t notice that it’s bundled with a very unique die. The die doesn’t cut anything, but rather imprints tiny dots in your cardstock.

If you look closely at our pictures, you might notice the tiny needle sized dots in the friends and family card that we made last night.

But before I share the story, let me remind you that today is the last day you can stock up on crafting supplies and get free shipping!

Yes! All things must come to an end and it ends tonight at midnight Stampin’ Up!® time.

I Can’t Believe We Almost Missed This!

The die worked for us and we like it a lot. But it didn’t work as well for our friend who had a Big Shot. We know her Big Shot gets a lot of use. When she sent us a sample, we noticed two things.

  • The holes weren’t quite as deep.
  • And they weren’t even. It was as if there could be flat spots on her roller.

But when we used it on our newer Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, they came out evenly.

And that’s probably it. Those flat spots probably wouldn’t show up except that these holes are like pin holes. And my friend makes a LOT of cards! She probably makes at least 100 a month – every month.

We kept our Big Shot. They’re good machines. But any machine will age over time. And hers probably has many good years left on it – just not with a fine dotted pattern like this has.

And I should mention that the Flowers of Beauty stamp set & dies are a real bargain (while supplies last) when you purchase them separately. The bundle has a normal 10% discount, but when purchased separately, the stamp set is 10% off and the dies are 20% off.

Are You Ready for an Upgrade?

We loved our Big Shot, but we really love our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine!

We like that the platforms fold up to make them so easy to move or make room for something else without moving it away.

The opening seems to be a smidge wider. There were a couple times where Ann roughed up the side of her cutting plates because they were too close to the side of the opening. That hasn’t happened with our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Our Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine gets used almost every day, but not for 100’s of cards….usually.

Both machines are good and we love that Stampin’ Up!® has a wonderful warranty both when they sold the Big Shot and now with the new Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machines.

Maybe it’s time to consider an upgrade!
