Since we’re on a tree kick, we’re sharing a Summer tree birthday card. It doesn’t have to be Summer, but it is a green tree and definitely not Fall or Winter.
I’m thinking that this would be a great masculine birthday card. My favorite huMAN seemed to like it a lot. It’s another one of those that Ann & I cooked up while everyone else was sleeping.
Ann seems to think that this is a Live Oak Tree, but she’s not botanist. And you know what dogs think about trees – much like large natural fire hydrants.
Since I’m barking about fire hydrants, let me share with you that we are about an hour away from Chico where the Park Fire is. So many of you ask when there are big fires and natural events here in California. And we appreciate you for it. We do have friends in Chico and the fire is very close to them.
It’s the biggest fire so far this year and has come close to the town of Paradise which was destroyed 6 years ago.
I’ve got my paws together and in the prayer position as we have already seen Facebook posts for lost dogs in that area.
It’s a shame that someone set it by pushing a flaming car into a ravine.
So, back to the subject….
Could This Be a Masculine Card?
What do you think?
It’s got a ribbon. It’s got bling.
Card Making Tips
Were you wondering how Ann made this multicolored tree? You may be surprised.
- First, she took her Old Olive stamp pad and carefully applied color to the leafy area of the tree.
- Then, she took the brush end of her Pecan Pie marker to color the trunk and branches.
- Finally, she carefully took her Old Olive stamp pad and delicately applied color to the grass.
Alternately, you could take the brush tip of your Old Olive marker to color the leaves, but Ann chose the faster way.
Please note that the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder is not your average embossing folder. It comes with dies so that you can emboss and cut the leaves at the same time. It coordinates with the Changing Leaves Stamp Set & available as a bundle that we didn’t use on this project.
