Ann doesn’t do very many old style cards. We usually use our Big Shot and try to vary things up a bit. Most of the time we use only one or usually two stamp sets.
One of those old styles that she avoids like the plague is a scene. But that’s a bark for another day.
Because Stampin’ Up! announced a big Closeout Sale yesterday, we thought we’d focus on some of the closeout stamp sets and accessories. This stamp set is called Be Jolly, By Golly and it’s made for quick, simple cards.
We could’ve gotten away with just one stamp set, but we had to get that reindeer in there from the Greetings from Santa set that is discounted in this sale.
You see it’s a landscape scene, right? It’s one layer. It’s easy, peasy. Just ink up your stamps and stamp away.
It’s even faster if you put all your trees on one block. Stamp once full strength, move it and stamp again for dimension.
But there’s a new twist!
We thought it looked a bit old fashioned just putting the layers of cardstock together so I told Ann to stamp trees on the card base to extend the scene out. That and a little rhinestone in the big star was all it took to bring it up to my code.
With not much more effort, it looked complete.
Now you may notice that this set isn’t discounted in the sale. I’m sure that Stampin’ Up! has their reasons, but some of the items aren’t. And some items are really a bargain! And if they’re in the Closeout Sale, that means they’re not coming back. That will soon make them collectors items.
Like last night we bought Sharon a Layering Circles Framelits that she wanted as a gift from us by using her Stampin’ Bucks. What timing! We got it for her and it was marked half price! YOWZAH!

Well I think the scenery card turned out beautiful. I am glad you added the deer. He finishes up the snowy scene nicely.
