As you well know, things don’t always go exactly according to plan in paper crafting. do your projects always go perfectly?
But it’s what you do next that determines whether you make a project you like or throw it all away.
Today’s card was made with parts that might have otherwise found a spot in your nearest recycle bin. But we saved it to make this nice card that would make anyone feel special. And it proves that you can’t make an impressive card with just the Butterflies Thinlets (but I would still recommend getting the matching Butterflies Basics stamp set).
Ann used 2 unscented dryer sheets with the Butterflies Thinlets when she cut the butterfly out of the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. but when she tried to separate them, the Painted Blooms DSP tore.
See how they stuck to the dryer sheets a bit more than we would’ve liked. (2 sheets meant at least 6 layers)
So we changed what we were planning to do. We got out a Stampin’ Sponge and gently sponged Soft Suede onto the butterfly.
Then we planned a little background by layering the White Jute Ribbon on top of the Blackberry Bliss card stock strip.
We attached the ribbon to the card stock with Fast Fuse (or if you want to call it Fuse Fast) and then trimmed off the Just Ribbon with the Craft & Ribbon scissors.
Take the butterfly that you’ve cut out and layer it with just a little bit of Liquid Glue onto Whisper White & Blackberry Bliss that are already adhered together. Then run it through your favorite Embossing Folder. We picked the Honeycomb Embossing Folder because it wasn’t too busy.
And you don’t have to put a lot of glue everywhere because the embossing will help keep it together. Here’s another look at what we came up with.
