HINT: Those that do events similar to this with me often DON’T use their favorite limited quantity paper to make their projects. You’ll have all the knowlege to remake with your favorite colors later.
This is what you’ll want to have on hand:
First, you’ll want to pick out some patterned paper – two patterns. – one for your featured area and one that is less busy that coordinates (like polka dots or lines would work).
Pick a dark colored card base that will work with your patterned paper. You’ll need two pieces the same color:
- 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for the card base
- 4″ x 5-1/4″ of the same color
Patterned Paper:
- 3-3/4″ x 4″ high for the featured piece
- if there’s a direction to your paper, it should be going up & down the 4″ side
- see picture on the right for reference
- 1-1/4″ x 4″ of the less busy piece
You’ll want a medium sized greeting stamp and die or punch to cut that out. You’ll also want a scrap white, vanilla or light colored paper for your greeting. And some scraps of your card base color or complimentary colors in case you want a border around your greeting.
I would use a dark ink that matches your card base for the greeting.
Lastly, a little ribbon would be nice. A foot or so.
Of course, you’ll want these standard stamping supplies:
- Trimmer
- Scissors
- Adhesive & Dimensionals
A Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with an embossing folder is an option for this project but is not required.
